FAIR TRADE IS THE ONLY WAY WE WANT TO TRADE
Fairtrade changes the way trade works through better prices, decent working conditions and a fairer deal for farmers and workers in developing countries.
Fairtrade changes the way trade works through better prices, decent working conditions and a fairer deal for farmers and workers in developing countries. It is transparent and places equitable ownership in the hands of the producers.
Through Fair Trade, we ensure that our farmers receive a fair price for their produce, that there is no gender discrimination, and that the fields are free of child labour. We ensure that our workers are paid higher wages and enjoy better working conditions. The unique Fair Trade premium provides additional funds to farmers and workers, which they are free to invest as they find fit.As we weave, we focus on nurturing respectful relationships, stronger communities, empowered women, best environmental practices and the highest regard for local culture.
“Fairtrade works to eliminate poverty”

TIP-TOEING….TO LEAVE NO FOOTPRINT
Our organic cotton is sourced directly from rain-fed farms, and so utilizes less water and energy. Organic production further reduces carbon emissions and improves soil fertility. All Terra Thread products come to you dressed in eco-friendly FSC-certified paper packaging. Inside the outer packaging, they rest within fashionably styled, organic cotton canvas tote bags which can be reused for years. The highest social and environmental standards are followed in all the production facilities, along the entire supply chain. We are carbon neutral and use only GOTS approved, low impact dyes and chemicals, which means our products are free of heavy metals, such as lead and formaldehyde, and harmful pesticides and insecticides. Our factories are solar-powered, have a rainwater harvesting system and receive organically-grown cotton from rain-fed fields.
WE BELIEVE IN KINDNESS – TO YOUR SKIN AND THE ENVIRONMENT
A HEALTHY SUPPLY CHAIN, ALL THE WAY
The journey of a Terra Thread Home product is transparent.
We encourage you to track the trail of goodness – from the cotton plucked from the field to the product in your home.
The cotton for our products is sourced directly from Farmer Co-operatives in India, managed by Non-Government Organizations. These organisations work with small and marginalized farmers in rain-fed areas and ecologically depressed regions in India, to improve their livelihoods and raise their living standards. These projects benefit more than 35,000 farmers across three states.
They are trained and supported to reduce their cost of cultivation and get a higher price for their cotton.Farmer owned and managed institutions which are equitable and profitable are supported.Development of women and children in backward rural areas is supported at the ground level, in the areas of health and education, by managing clinics and schools.Farmers and their families remain safe as they do not handle hazardous chemical pesticides and they are able to grow their own food without any Genetically Modified seeds, agrochemicals and adulteration.
The long staple Indian organic cotton is then spun into yarn and woven into our extra soft and supple fabric. World class infrastructure in these units result in some of the best quality fabrics made the right way, as per GOTS standards.
